St. Paul the Apostle School has been named a Blue Ribbon School, a prestigious
Designation given to selected schools across the country by the U.S. Department of Education.

The announcement came in May from Congressman Sam Johnson.

St. Paul the Apostle is a parish school affiliated with St/ Paul the Apostle Church at 720 Floyd Rd. The enrollment is 446 students from kindergarten through grade 8. Mary Williams has been the principal of the school since 1990.

Information about the school which was prepared for the Blue Ribbon Schools Program indicates that ST. Paul's students come from diverse backgrounds within the parish on a priority basis before students are admitted form outside the parish are admitted. Children from all ethnic groups and religions are encouraged to apply for enrollment.

"The school is located near Telecom Corridor of Richardson, and this affords an opportunity for interaction with international students. "The employees of the Telecom companies have shared their positive experiences involving the St. Paul School community with the incoming international employees. Thus, the parish and school have entered into a cycle of enrichment that goes beyond the community and reaches the world at large."
